Director of People and Culture
Job Description
The Director of People and Culture will be responsible for managing human resources for the corporate headquarters, working with employees and leaders at all levels. You will design and execute the strategy and the long-term vision for the organization in regards to employees and people initiatives. We are not only looking for a leader in policies and procedures, but also a leader that will build relationships and culture. Someone that will foster a culture that inspires people by implementing best practices across the company. The Director of People and Culture will be responsible for employee benefits administration, cultural initiatives, individual employee HR needs, engagement and retention, performance management, career development, and ensure that the company is compliant with all laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Provide both strategic and hands on HR support to the BIG Teams: Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and across Brands.
Partner with and influence key business leaders by proving exceptional hire to retire support to build high performing/functioning teams.
Enjoy facilitating key trainings and/or bringing in new trainings to build a performance-driven culture.
Proactively support and strategize with management team on current and future staffing needs and manage talent acquisition to maintain open headcount.
Keep a strong pulse on employee engagement and proactively gain insights from employees and available analytics.
Diagnose, assess and resolve critical issues and challenges.
Influence and transform change in a busy, creative environment.
Design and facilitate organizational design process to ensure organizational structures across the company are optimized for growth
Provide direction and guidance to senior management team, directors and managers in the resolution of HR or employment related barriers impacting business performance.
Review, interpret, administer and ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, and company policies and procedures.
Establish an orientation procedure for onboarding new hires and training them to meet the needs of the company
Be a cultural champion, both as a role model and in leading your team and cross-company initiatives to help us scale and strengthen our culture as we grow.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field required
7+ years’ experience in human resources department
3+ years’ experience in a HR leadership position
Strong understanding of the interviewing process, benefits administration, payroll and other HR functions
PHR certification a plus, Knowledge of Paylocity preferred
Multi-tasker: Exceptional ability to prioritize and manage time effectively – you naturally focus on the right things and can seamlessly move between projects & tasks, without losing sight of what’s important to do
Cultural Competency: The ability to lead through seeking diversity, fostering inclusion, and a passion to develop every single individual
Experience working in a fast paced, high-performance culture where the business is constantly evolving
Ability to think critically and anticipate issues before they arise, and proactively suggest long-term solutions
Excellent judgment and the ability to make sound decisions independently
Stellar project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and discipline to organize and prioritize
Possess solid functional expertise across all general areas of HR, including Organizational Design, Workforce Planning, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Experience, Talent and Performance Management, Total Rewards, Employee Relations and Employment Law
